What other sci-fi monsters can say they succesfully wiped out humanity? Well technically not everyone, as John Krasinski's 2018 film depicts a family of survivalists struggling in the post-apocalypse against a seemingly endless horde of these roving, sightless alien creatures.

Though blind, they are hyper-sensitive to sound, forcing those who want to live to lead a practically noiseless existence, which expectedly proves very difficult. No matter how well you hide, the slightest mistake or misstep will lead these things right to you.

Beyond being vicious, relentless predators, these aliens are terrifying simply because they're so succesful. As our story begins, our small band of survivors are seemingly one of the few bands of humanity left alive after only three odd years of the aliens' presence on Earth.

Even with all of humanity's collected weaponry and technology, these realtively primitive and severly-disadvantaged creatures managed to wipe most of us out with little-to-no effort. One can only imagine civilizaiton being annihlated by these things in a matter of mere months, something that the upcoming prequel/sequel film is known to depict.
