3. The Next 300 Movie Won't Be Set In Ancient Greece

While doing the press tour for Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder was interviewed about what's next for the 300 franchise, and confirmed that talks are underway to extend the "brand" out of Ancient Greece. Snyder said, "We€™ve been talking a lot about sort of different incarnations of 300. We€™ve been talking about is there a way, possibly, we move out of Ancient Greece and use it as a framing device for other conflicts that happened throughout history. I think I mentioned that we talked about the Revolutionary War version, and we talked about the Alamo, and we€™ve talked about there€™s a battle in China, a 'Lost Legion' kind of concept, any of those kinds of things are on the table." On one hand it seems like a pretty desperate ploy to keep the 300 name alive, but if it results in more visually splendid, wildly over-the-top period action movies, then this could actually work.
