11 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (March 29th)

9. X-Men's Next Villain May Be Proteus

X-Men: Apocalypse may still be a few months away from release, but that hasn't stopped director Bryan Singer discussing what could come next for the mutant heroes once Apocalypse is inevitably defeated (at least temporarily). Singer said in an interview this past week, "I€™d love to use Proteus somehow. There€™s a lot visually you could do with a character like that", and for the uninitiated, Proteus is the son of Moira MacTaggert, who has the ability to warp reality, manipulate the laws of physics and even possess people. Proteus would be an interesting left-field choice for a villain considering that he doesn't have the iconic stature of someone like Apocalypse, and as Singer rightly says, it would give the movie a ton of options for trippy, stunning visuals and set-pieces. Naturally, there's no guarantee about this as a) Singer is clearly spit-balling in the early planning stage of the next movie and b) Singer probably won't be directing the next X-Men film as he's busy prepping his 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea remake.
