The brilliant Stephen King adaptation loses all its menace in an instant, thanks to obnoxiously uplifting music and a ridiculously upbeat voiceover. The impact of this recut trailer can be hard to shake when watching the early stages of the real film, and we're sure director Stanley Kubrick would be spinning in his grave after seeing this monstrosity. Best (or worst) of all, by cutting out the "The," the movie's title simply becomes "Shining." Aww.
