10. The Fast And The Furious = Point Break
Fast And Furious may now be the critic's guilty pleasure, but what it was over a decade ago bears no resemblance to the heist driven, cops n robber tale it is now. A simple street racing movie that trod every step in the guide to make a movie for the teen audience, its essentially a refleecing of Point Break. Kathryn Bigelows first real breakthrough is a testosterone fueled adventure that tries to make up for its lack of plot with adrenaline pumping action. How successful that is depends on how much youre open to a film with a lack of plot. Still, the characters are well drawn and the bromance between the key duo is sort of believable. The Fast And The Furious has no shame in using the exact same plot, down to having a near identical conclusion (although this later film keeps it open for sequels). Vin Diesel, the series lead, who has a charisma level so low theres doctors on call 24/7, has such a poor grasp on cinema (he said Fast Five should be an Best Picture contender) that he probably thought he was remaking a classic on a par with Citizen Kane.
