10. Martine Recognises The Threat Immediately - Paranormal Activity 2
Paranormal Activity 2 opens with Daniel Rey's home being trashed by an unseen demon. Unsurprisingly, Daniel's daughters, Kristi and Katie, are left terrified. Daniel dismisses their concerns, believing there's a rational explanation why the doors close by themselves and why everything in the kitchen levitates. (It's probably the wind.)
Fortunately, Martine the housekeeper immediately recognises the danger the Reys are in. Hoping to expel the evil spirit, Martine burns sage throughout the house. Because Daniel has no belief in the supernatural, he berates Martine for her actions before firing her.
When Daniel later realises the demon is real, he rehires Martine, hoping she can protect them. Sadly, it's too little too late. After the malevolent force possesses Katie, it uses her body to kill Daniel and Kristi. She then takes her infant half-brother, Ali before disappearing into the night.
The only person in the Rey house who didn't suffer a horrific fate was Martine - the one person who did everything in her power to warn the family. If Daniel listened to Martine from the beginning, all of them would've been spared.
