11 Surprise Movie Villain Reveals Everyone Loved

9. Scrappy-Doo - Scooby-Doo: The Movie

For Mystery Inc., seeing a possessed Maroon 5 should've been enough of a warning to make a quick exit from the ominously titled Spooky Island in 2002's Scooby-Doo: The Movie. In fact, seeing Maroon 5, period, would've sent most people running for the hills.

Either way, Scooby and his gang of pals ended up sticking around to solve the shady goings on of this strange island locale, with all signs pointing to Rowan Atkinson's Emile Mondavarious as the cause of Spooky Island's problems.

Instead, it would be revealed that Mondavarious was a robot being controlled by none other than Scrappy-Doo. The one and the same Scrappy-Doo who had been booted out of Mystery Inc. for declaring how he was the team's new leader, before then proceeding to take a p*ss all over Sarah Michelle Gellar's Daphne.

The reveal of Scrappy as Scooby-Doo: The Movie's 'big bad' was so well received, as it tapped perfectly into the general conscious of long-standing fans of the Scooby-Doo character and his world of supporting players.

Remember, even in their younger years, fans of Scooby-Doo still often had no shortage of disdain for the oft-obnoxious Scrappy-Doo. And in revealing Scrappy as the main villain of the 2002 movie, that was such a rewarding and pleasing twist for those who have forever had a soft spot for Scoobert Doobert Doo.
