11 Things We Learned From Quentin Tarantino On Joe Rogan Experience

Given how Quentin Tarantino is one of the filmmakers most synonymous with the huge success seen by Bob and Harvey Weinstein's Miramax Films in the '90s, you always had to think that Joe Rogan was going to bring up Tarantino's relationship with criminally convicted sex offender Harvey - who is currently serving 23 years in prison, as well as still having other charges to face.

For his part, Quentin proclaimed how "everybody who was in his orbit knew about" Harvey Weinstein's disgusting behaviour towards women.

"It's sad. He wasn't just this guy who financed my movies, he was kind of like a father figure. I mean, he was kind of a f**ked-up father figure, but that's most people's f**king father. He was involved in my professional life for, like, a long, long time, so I think it's sad."

On wishing he himself had done more, Tarantino added:

"I wish I had talked to the guy. I wish I had sat him down and had the uncomfortable conversation. I didn't know anything about rapes or anything like that, but I know he was... I chalked it up to the boss chasing the secretary around the desk. Not that that's okay, but that's how I looked at it; he was making unwanted advances, that's how I looked at it. But I wish I had talked to him. I wish I had sat him down and gone, 'Harvey, you can't do this, you're gonna f**k up everything'."

When asked whether anybody ever spoke to Weinstein about his inexcusable actions at the time, QT mentioned how Harvey's brother Bob may have spoke to him about this, before saying:

"I don't think anybody talked to him about it. And the thing about it is, everybody who was in his orbit knew about it. There's nobody who says they didn't know that didn't know. Because if you were in his orbit - and that includes all the big actors who he palled around with - they all knew, they all knew. They probably didn't know anything about rapes, but they had heard things. They had heard about him just, y'know, putting the bite on somebody in a limo or something."
