11 Things We Learned From Quentin Tarantino On Joe Rogan Experience
3. There's Still The Ten-Movie Plan
For the longest time now, Quentin Tarantino has always talked about how his intention was to direct ten movies before then calling it a day by the time he hits 60.
As it stands, Tarantino is 58 years of age and has, in his eyes, nine movies on his résumé - as QT classes Kill Bill as one picture.
Confirming to Joe Rogan how he still plans to direct ten pictures and bow out while he's at the top of his game and leaving audiences wanting more, Quentin said:
"You all know actors, bands, musicians, singers, sports dudes that you've loved, and when they were doing something new it was exciting and special. And then at a certain point it's not exciting or special anymore. It doesn't mean they're not without worth, but it's just not the excitement you used to have when blah blah blah had a new movie coming out or blah blah blah had a new album coming out.
I want to retire before I lose to Leon Spinks. I don't wanna lose to Leon Spinks."
Of course, Leon Spinks is the boxer who became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion in just his eighth professional fight after beating the legendary Muhammad Ali when Ali was 36 years old.
Tarantino explained how, as shown in film history, filmmakers don't get better with age - all while Rogan did his best to convince Quentin that he still has so much more to bring to the industry.
