Cause Of Death: Shot.

The movie ends with Angela Hayes (Frances McDormand) and corrupt cop Jason Dixon (Sam Rockwell) setting off on a mission to locate and possibly kill a maybe-rapist...which pretty much sounds like an easy way to get yourself killed.

Considering that the rape suspect gave Dixon a pretty damn good beating earlier in the film - though Dixon essentially allowed it - it's safe to say he's not going to take kindly to being threatened with guns, and may well be prepared for such a scenario.

There's a damn good chance the guy gets a few shots off and kills at least one if not both of them, though this is of course assuming that Hayes and Dixon don't decide to abandon their mission on the drive there. It's all up in the air, but it's sure not looking good.
