12 Actors Who Have Basically Just Become Cartoon Characters

8. Helena Bonham Carter

Women seem to be more resistant to the tendency to play grotesques instead of characters, probably because many of the actors on this list are middle-aged or older and sadly there are still far fewer parts for women over forty. Helena Bonham Carter has carved herself a niche as the gothic English matriarch of Hollywood, and usually turns up on the red carpet in fairly odd ensembles as well. In 2012, Bonham Carter inevitably played Miss Havisham in Great Expectations, a role which presumably wasn't much of a stretch. When she's playing a villain, which is often, Bonham Carter takes the opportunity to take that trademark eeriness right off the charts and alternates between hissing and screeching like a banshee. For children (and adults) across the globe, this is her most memorable performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY12VzDhWiA
