12 Actors Who Almost Walked Off Huge Movies (And Why)
3. Ben Affleck Feared Another Daredevil - Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Ben Affleck has proven himself to be a talented actor, writer and filmmaker. He began acting at the age of 7, and slowly built a respectable reputation for himself. But it was his success in Good Will Hunting that proved to be a major turning point for him.
Affleck, and fellow roommate Matt Damon, wrote the script together and after selling it, got the chance to star in the film alongside Robin Williams. After winning both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, the opportunities started to pour in.
However, Affleck would later prove to have bad luck when it came to film adaptations of comic books. Affleck starred in 2003’s Daredevil, which got negative reviews from critics and was the only film up to that point Affleck had regretted being a part of.
After landing the role of Batman in 2016’s Dawn of Justice, Affleck developed concerns with the script and was afraid it was going to be Daredevil all over again. Snyder would eventually convince Affleck to stay on the film, but it turned out Affleck was right to be worried, as the film was slammed by both critics and DC comic fans alike.
