Taylor Kitsch has been referred to as "box office strychnine" due to his rather unfortunate track record as of late, even if, all things considered, he's not a terrible actor, just one who has been chewed up and spat out by the Hollywood machine. Kitsch has only acted in a small number of movies, so listing his hits won't take long: John Tucker Must Die, Savages (ensemble) and Lone Survivor (ensemble, and sold on Wahlberg). His flops, meanwhile, include Snakes on a Plane (which was financially successful but severely undercut expectations), The Covenant, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (a disappointing haul blamed on a pirate copy of the movie being leaked weeks in advance), The Bang Bang Club, John Carter (his biggest flop), Battleship (another costly flop) and The Grand Seduction. Why Is He A Flop? Nothing but bad luck. The vast majority of his flops were movies widely expected to be considerable hits, specifically Snakes on a Plane, Wolverine, John Carter and Battleship, and from the perspective of his agent, considering the talent attached and nature of the material, they must have seemed like sure things. It's hard to see how the handsome, solid actor that is Kitsch could have derailed these movies on his own. So prolific are Kitsch's failures that some have even proclaimed him to be "cursed". Make up your own minds on that one...
