12 Actors Who Basically Guarantee You Make A Flop

6. Emile Hirsch

Emile Hirsch is a tremendously talented actor, though he's sadly not had a whole lot of box office success throughout his career. His hits to date include Into the Wild (sold on its Oscar buzz), Milk (more likely due to Sean Penn and the Oscar buzz), Lone Survivor (sold on the Mark Wahlberg factor), and well, Savages (an ensemble piece) did just about OK, we guess. As for the flops? The Girl Next Door, Imaginary Heroes, Lords of Dogtown, Alpha Dog, The Air I Breathe, Speed Racer (his biggest flop to date), Taking Woodstock, Killer Joe, Twice Born, The Motel Life and Prince Avalanche. Why Is He A Flop? Speed Racer should have been the movie to propel Hirsch to super-stardom, though its financial failure likely dented his favour with big-budget productions, yet in his defense, much of Hirsch's recent work has been in low-budget indie fare that was never going to be a major hit anyway. Still, the fact that every single one of his hits has an exterior reason for its success speaks volumes: he just might be better-suited for supporting parts, at least in financial terms. Personally, we'd watch him as a lead any day of the week, even if casuals don't seem to agree...
