12 Actors Who Stupidly Turned Down Comic Book Movies

1. Pierce Brosnan Turned Down Bruce Wayne

During his AMA with Reddit, former Bond lead Brosnan admitted that he too is among the multitude of actors who were in the running to play Batman, along with the likes of Bill Murray and Johnny Depp down the years. Unlike the majority of the suggested stars though, Brosnan took his own Bat-fate into his hands and pulled out of the running, because he didn't believe the film could ever be taken seriously:
"I went and met with Tim Burton for the role of Batman. But I just couldn't really take it seriously, any man who wears his underpants outside his pants just cannot be taken seriously. That was my foolish take on it. It was a joke, I thought. But how wrong was I?"
Is that a sign of regret? Probably. Brosnan might have scored a long-term victory with Bond, even if the franchise fell off the tracks before it was reinvented with Daniel Craig, but Batman would have put him on an entirely different plain. And if he'd done both? He'd probably be king of England by now. Which of these actors should regret turning down their big comic book movie chance? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
