12 Actors Whose Careers Were Destroyed By A Single Movie

4. Halle Berry - Catwoman

The Actor: I personally never really liked Halle Berry. Every time she touches a popular franchise her performance always comes across as a bit, meh. Jinx was a bland Bond girl saved only by the even worse quality of the rest of Die Another Day and her Storm was one of the few mutants in the X-Men films that felt really forced. But clearly studio bigwigs disagree, as in 2004 they had her head up Catwoman.

The Film: Now in the early Naughties it was assumed just about any top tier superhero would translate into a successful movie. We now know different, but that wasn't before we had a few major misfires. Although Daredevil was seriously bloated and Fantastic Four was criminally boring, it'€™s Catwoman that came out worst. Disregarding the character from the Batman comics, we were presented with a Catwoman making up for what she lacked in seduction with literally acting like a cat.

What Happened Next: Razzie€™s galore. Just three years after her Oscar€™s win for Monster€™s Ball, Berry was deservingly awarded the Worst Actress award, with the film getting three more. She took it with humility, riffing on her Oscar acceptance speech, but the damage had already been done. Aside from X-Men movies the work dried up, with appearances in dour comedy ensembles New Years Eve and Movie 43. Her status as a has-been was affirmed last winter when she starred in Cloud Atlas, the definitive guide to Hollywood actors who were past it.
