Let's get one thing straight - much like Nic Cage these days, casting William Shatner in your film suggests you're looking for a performance of Shatner-esque proportions.

The former captain of the Enterprise has usually delivered too - like Isaacs, plenty of mediocre works have been vastly improved by his presence.

But some are just too hard for even Jim Kirk to salvage - and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous may just be the best example. Even as man with the microphone Stan Fields, there's not enough he can do to lift a particularly mirthless affair out of its torpor.
