12 Best Comic Book Movie Trailers Ever

9. Suicide Squad (Trailer #2)

The first trailer for Suicide Squad did an ok job of setting up the characters, but overall it didn't quite work on selling the tone of the movie. This one does that perfectly. There's a roll call of all the characters, encapsulating what each one will bring to the Suicide Squad, with Jared Leto's Joker much improved, more maniacal, and less pimp-ish.

That font is great, there's some weird and wonderful characters (see: Joker's henchmen), one of the best uses of Bohemian Rhapsody you'll ever see in a trailer, and the MVP of the whole thing: Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, who was promising to steal the whole damn show (shame about the Michael Bay-esque shot of her bending over though). While most of DC's output had been dark and gloomy, this looked like a lot of fun, and the tone and the music position this as a villainous, DC version of Guardians of the Galaxy.

And that is why you should never trust movie trailers.
