12 Best Horror Movies Since The Year 2000

6. Pontypool (2009)

Maple Pictures

Pontypool could work effectively as a War Of The Worlds-type believable radio play. The entire story takes place inside a radio broadcast building where a talk show host and his staff must determine what is happening to the outside world. There seems to be a mysterious virus spreading quickly, but the nature of the infection is unique and puzzling.

The broadcasters are determined to help share the truth with the outside world, whatever that truth might be. That'€™s when things get really crazy. Is it simply zombie-ism? The symptoms of the infected include changed speech patterns, mob mentalities, and a non-traditional method of spreading the virus that makes it all the more dangerous.

Again, this post is spoiler-averse so the best parts are those that can'€™t be listed here. Suffice it to say that the people involved are in serious danger, eh (they'€™re Canadian).
