Although some would argue that Star Wars has always predominately been a summer blockbuster (usually arriving in May), lining up nicely with school being out for summer, that's all changed now. And it's not a bad thing! After all, we got the Lord of the Rings films every year at Christmas, and for those years, they really defined the holiday season. Fantasy for some reason feels suited to the festive period - perhaps the feeling is a holdover from the days of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (pick a version) - in terms of being able to be enjoyed by the whole family, and when is the one time of year families are supposed to be together?
