12 Biggest Lies In Harry Potter We All Accept

6. Food Shortages Happen (When They Don't Need To)

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Pt 2
Warner Bros.

Come the closing chapter of this much-loved series, our heroic trio are in truly dire straits. Wandering the hinterlands of England caught in a search for Horcruxes and a purpose to their angsty love triangle, the three find themselves often running low on much needed supplies such as food.

Fortunately they promptly remember that, in the established rules of the Harry Potter universe, once you’ve got any food at all you can increase it exponentially by magic, and if you’ve not got any, well you’re in luck because you need only remember a place which has food—any place at all—and summon some from there.

Which the three, of course, proceed to not do, for some reason. Which results in the plot-shaping, clearly unavoidable food shortage for which there was, you know, no actual unavoidable need whatsoever.
