12 Classic Movies That Got Away With Problematic Scenes

Revenge Of The Nerds was always supposed to be raunchy, near the knuckle comedy that toyed with the limits of acceptability. However, in the 35 years since the movie released, the line has moved somewhat, and certain scenes in the classic romp now find themselves well over it.

There’s actually so many that it’s impossible to dwell on them, as the movie throws them at you so fast. The vilest part is Lewis committing rape by deception by having sex with Betty while wearing a Darth Vader mask and having her think he’s someone else. The Nerds selling naked pictures of Betty is almost as bad, too.

Then there’s the panty raid scene, which while in itself is gross (if not enough to wind up on this list), the fact they use the raid to set up cameras to spy on the girls should really make your skin crawl.

Then there’s the issue that gay men and Asians each get a ridiculous stereotype beaten into the ground for laughs, and finally that the Alphas seem deathly afraid of black men is almost nonsensically racist.
