12 Deeply Disturbed Female Film Characters

7. She - Antichrist (2009)

13.05.2013antichrist 1 In all honesty She really does have a reason to be insane. The incident of your infant son falling to his death while you were busy having mad passionate sex with hubby would put any loving mother cuckoo. After a sejourn in the looney bin, loving husband He brings She to an isolated cabin in the woods in order to do his own psychological work on her to relieve her all consuming grief. He doesn't do a very good job of it and She grows more and more unhinged. Clitoris snipping, testicle crushing - everything that is unwholesome - descends upon the film. Apparently She had been writing a thesis about witch hunts when she became convinced that all women are inherently evil. This is a repulsive thought in He's mind and he seeks to expurge it from She's psyche. But He is fighting a losing battle and his only recourse is strangulation of the demented She. Putting her out of her misery really - what woman wants to live with a seriously mangled lady garden?

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
