In particular the film gives Neve Campbell lots of opportunity to kick some ass, as evidenced in this great scene towards the end. Ghostface forces Sidney to get rid of her gun before entering the house, and as soon as she walks in he of course runs towards her with a knife. But Sidney€™s a really smart character, so pulls out a second gun because she was fully prepared for a situation exactly like this. She tells Ghostface, €œIt€™s your turn to Scream, asshole,€ and then shoots him again and again. Awesome. This truly cathartic moment demonstrates why audiences love Sidney so much. Like Ripley before her, Sidney is a truly smart, capable and badass heroine, and she€™s a huge part of why these films work so well.
