6. Ghostface Chases Gale And Dewey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VheGwYuEZJs Here's a moment that doesn't involve meta humor or commentary on horror films at all. It's just a completely serious and tense chase sequence and one of the most effective scenes in the whole franchise. While reviewing footage of Ghostface to try to figure out his identity, the killer suddenly appears and begins chasing down Gale. The scene is full of moments that get your heart racing, like when she suddenly sees Ghostface behind the glass and has to quickly hide from his sight. Gale is pretty capable and smart here, making all of the right decisions and not acting like your typically dumb horror protagonist. The end of the chase is also rather memorable with Dewey on the other side of the glass desperately trying to get Gale's attention. She then watches in horror as he's stabbed repeatedly but she's unable to do anything, and that idea of being completely unable to help in a situation like this is pretty brutal. The impact is lessened a bit when it's revealed that Dewey isn't really dead, but it's still a suspenseful sequence in an already excellent sequel.
