12 Delayed 2021 Movies That Really Weren't Worth The Wait

This sequel to 2019's entertaining Escape Room was delayed quite a few times and eventually came out in July 2021. It was easy to be pessimistic about this since a trailer wasn't actually released until just a month before the film came out (which is never a good sign) but nonetheless, the premise is still great and it was intriguing to see where this would go.

And to be fair, Escape Room 2 is solid enough for the most part. The PG-13 rating was still infuriating as all hell but the escape rooms are terrific and it is easily one of the best movies on this list.

So, why was it included here? Well, it completely shoots itself in the foot during the third act with an awful plot twist that not only ruins this film, but actually retrospectively ruins the first one too.

Without going into spoiler territory, all the stakes have been removed ("If you didn't see it, it didn't happen" one character says) and what could've been a fun horror franchise has ruined itself after only two instalments. What a shame.

Therefore, as much as you'll enjoy some of the escape rooms it'll be hard to leave this one without a sour aftertaste, so it doesn't really feel like it was worth the wait in the end.
