In the fallout of Tony Stark's death, there were few who felt the loss quite so much as Peter Parker. The entire world mourned Iron Man, but Peter lost his friend, mentor, and father figure. Tony helped Peter become the super hero he was, and the two shared a very special relationship.

With the world now without its best defender, Tony had put contingencies in place for Peter to step up. After restricting him with the Training Wheel protocols, Spider-Man was given EDITH, which meant access to all of Tony's protocols, and the key to becoming the world's newest best defender.

This was Tony's way of giving Peter his blessing and his approval that he was ready to be who the world needed him to be, but Spider-Man didn't agree. He didn't feel ready for such a step and decided that EDITH would be better off in the hands of Quentin Beck, a man he had known for about five minutes.

This directly led to the drone attack on London, Peter being painted as a murderer, and having his real name revealed to the world. All of this could have been avoided if Peter had just kept EDITH to himself like he was supposed to.
