3. Chad Feldheimer (Burn After Reading)
Chad (Brad Pitt) is a simple-minded personal trainer, who, along with his colleague Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand), stumbles upon what they believe to be a CD containing confidential government files carelessly left at the gym. They're wrong- it's actually a disgruntled CIA analyst's (John Malkovich) memoirs- but this leads to a comedy of errors culminating in Chad breaking into the analyst's house in the hope of retrieving more sensitive data. Meanwhile, the analyst's wife (Tilda Swinton) has kicked out her husband and allowed her lover Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney) to move in. By coincidence, Chad happens to be in the house just as Harry is returning home. He panics, runs upstairs and hides in the wardrobe. As Harry climbs the stairs, changes his clothes and opens the wardrobe, he screams and instinctively puts a bullet into Chad's goofy smile.
