It's not every day that a teaser reveals the entire storyline of the film, from beginning to end, but this is exactly what the teaser for Mulan did. A selection of scenes from the film were played as we heard the Emperor of China list the various dangerous things Mulan has done. However, he concluded by saying that all of China will know about Mulan’s heroism.

Finding out that Mulan will save China did nothing to dim the anticipation generated by the teaser. Everyone who sees a Disney film expects a happy ending, so the teaser shifted the focus from "what is going to happen" to "HOW will it happen?" How will Mulan hide her identity? How will she defeat the Huns in battle? How will the palace be destroyed?

The teaser also features some pretty strong visuals. The scene where Mulan cuts her hair and puts on her father's armour for the first time were showcased, as were several impressive battle scenes. However, we also got a glimpse at the heart beneath the action, as we hear Mulan’s father telling her “The greatest joy and honour is having you for a daughter”. The teaser provided an intriguing look at one of Disney's strongest female leads, indicating tht the only way to learn about her adventures was to see them on the big screen.
