12 Harry Potter Movie Changes That Were Completely Justified
11. "Nice One, James!" - The Order Of The Phoenix
In The Book
During a duel with his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange, Sirius is struck by a curse and falls through the Veil to his death, devastating Harry, who saw him as a father figure.
In The Film
The interesting addition to this sequence sees Harry join Sirius in the duel, firing counter-curses at the Death Eaters, which impresses Sirius and elicits a "nice one, James!" shout from him. Harry is taken aback, naturally, but it's a wonderful little exchange that shows just how much the death of James affected his best friend.
In that moment, he's transported back to a happier time, just before he's killed, and you get a momentary flash of the tragedy of him having been locked away for 12 years in Azkaban for supposedly killing someone he dearly loved. Sure, it comes as a slight cost to Harry viewing him as a stand-in father, but it's a great addition to Sirius' story at least.
