8. Step Brothers 2
Adam McKay's
Step Brothers was one of the more riotously entertaining comedies of 2008, milking the bizarre brand of comedy that has been forged throughout Will Ferrell and McKay's working relationship. Though no firm plans have been put in place, the notion of a sequel to the man-children comedy has been suggested numerous times, with John C. Reilly stating that the pair adopt children together, sticking firm to the rule that a sequel has to be bigger - and therefore presumably but not always better - than the original. McKay seems confident that the project will happen, appreciating the cult following that the film has developed since it was released, expanding on Reilly's idea for a sequel, suggesting that the two characters will be slightly more grown-up, but something will happen that will see them regress to their respective states in the first film. Also, he says that some ideas they couldn't include in the first film would potentially make it in; if it's anything like the first film, we can't wait, but with Ferrell having such a full slate these days, and with McKay working on the impending Anchorman film, just how likely is it to happen? Plus, the further distance we get from a cult project like this, the less likely a follow-up seems.
