12 Iconic Story-Lines DC Film Universe Must Adapt Next
7. No Man's Land
From the sounds of it, the Caped Crusader that Ben Affleck's playing in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is about a million miles from the part Christian Bale played in the Dark Knight trilogy. Well, a million miles or a couple of decades Christopher Nolan's films followed the hero of Gotham from beginning to end. Affleck's take, meanwhile, is said to be a more older, grizzled vigilante with a good few years experience under his utility belt. Which is cool, because honestly, is there anybody on Earth who doesn't know Bruce Wayne's character arc? Murdered parents, swears justice on crime, trains around the world, cowl, Robin, Alfred, yadda yadda yadda? Skipping all that means that, when Warner Bros inevitably do another solo Batman film with Affleck in the role, means they can get right into the meaty stuff. No Man's Land is a rather underrated part of the character's history, coming as it did in the comic industry's mid-nineties Dark Age. It was one of the more unique takes on Gotham, however, where it finds itself cut off from the rest of the United States after a series of earthquakes. The Dark Knight Rises took elements of that, but didn't indulge the whole post-apocalyptic Mad Max vibe, with Batman struggling to police a city under martial law.
