As much as movie studios can take advantage of the Internet to maximise their latest blockbuster's marketing presence, it can also result in fanboy vitriol and the echo chamber of hatred taking over.

There's nothing like a first impression, and as such these movies have audiences at least concerned if not flat-out convinced that they will absolutely suck.

However, fickle as the Internet's film buffs are, they can easily be won over once again with a snazzy trailer, or even just one simple, enduring, meaningful image.

These 12 images don't necessarily dictate that these films will succeed against a torrent of bad PR, but it at least gives them a fighting chance, and suggests that maybe things aren't quite as bad as they surely seem.

Here are 12 images that will restore your faith in upcoming movies...

12. Old Man Logan - The Wolverine 3

Why We're Worried: The two previous Wolverine solo movies have ranged from terrible to just OK, so the odds are certainly against this one being good, even if it boasts a solid cast and will be taking on some version of the beloved Old Man Logan comic book arc.

Why This Image Rocks: It proves that they're going all in on the gruff, worn-down Logan, and the fact that there are so many photos out there of a bearded Jackman suggests that he likely won't be shaving it off after the first act and resuming his regular look.

This should be a very different and unique superhero movie, presenting a Wolverine like we've never seen on screen. Considering that this is apparently Jackman's final appearance as the character, that's totally apt.
