Why We're Worried: Because as talented as Jared Leto is, his performance as The Joker is always going to be extensively compared to and contrasted with Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning turn, no matter how brilliant Leto may be in the role. Early images of the new Joker (namely the abundance of tattooed words, like "damaged" on his forehead) were extremely divisive, as many felt like this wasn't the comic book Joker they were used to. Why This Image Rocks: Seeing the Clown Prince of Crime in the just-released Suicide Squad trailer has already turned a lot of fans around. One major thing to take note of is that, in the brief glimpses of The Joker, the infamous forehead tattoo is barely visible at all, so it doesn't seem like it's going to be as disastrously distracting as so many fans expected. Plus, Leto's facial expressions and general get-up looks absolutely terrifying. The healthiest way to look at the new Joker is to just approach it on its own terms: whether it's better or worse than Ledger, it's going to be incredibly different, which is probably the smartest way to go.
