12 Incredible Endings To Otherwise Terrible Movies

11. Epic (2013)

Epic 2013
20th Century Fox

Though it had a very talented cast and was beautifully made, Fox's Epic wasn't a sum of its parts and unfortunately fell akwardly flat in its substance. That mostly came down to a poor script that lacked good characterisation or compelling action and the result is something of an ordeal.

But, curiously, the animation is also blessed with one of the most stunning final credits sequences of all time, making the pleasure of seeing the film end two-fold. They are easily the film's most imaginative sequence and some of its most beautifully animated: we see the hidden world of the film's characters played with as they're shown only fleetingly in shadow and the camera tried in vain to capture them - to capture proof. And then we see a treasure trove of that proof, documented in one long scroll as inquisitve polaroids and scrawled notes.

. The credits have an enchanting feel to them that is simply missing from the rest of the film and you'll find yourself wishing hard that the team behind them had been promoted to making the rest of it.
