12 Incredibly Successful Movies (That Nobody Likes)

3. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Alice In Wonderland
Paramount

Gross: $790,653,942

This is another one where its enormous box office success was entirely expected and understandable. A return to the Indiana Jones franchise seemed like a great idea at the time, so it's a shame that this fourth Indiana Jones film was an excruciatingly dire turkey and one of the worst blockbusters of them all.

This sloppy, charmless, incoherent, incompetent and fridge-nuking mess is an absolute train-wreck that veers between tedious exposition and exceptionally silly, tension-free CGI set-pieces without even a hint of the magic that defined the original Indiana Jones trilogy and even Harrison Ford seems half-asleep.

To be honest, this isn't only one of the most disappointing films ever made, but it's one of the most annoying films ever made too. It's got Cate Blanchett being wasted as a hammy Soviet agent, Ray Winstone yelling "Jonesy!!" over and over again, idiotic action scenes full of poorly rendered CGI gophers and monkeys and worst of all, the big finale is... aliens. Yes, aliens.

Say what you will about the Star Wars Prequel and Sequel trilogies, but let's all be grateful neither of those even remotely compare to this monstrosity.
