12 Kick-Ass Upcoming Movies Nobody Is Talking About

Paterson Adam Driver

Whenever Adam Driver is cast in something at the minute, you basically have a guarantee of it being great. Or at least a guarantee that HE will be great in it.

In Annette, he plays a provocative stand-up comedian who is married to a world-famous soprano (played by Marion Cotillard) and who has a daughter, Annette, who grows up with a unique gift. That's all quite conventional, but it's when you learn that it's a musical, directed by the delightfully weird Leos Carax that it all kicks up a notch.

Knowing what to expect from the Holy Motors! director is very much a fool's game, but the component parts here - and particularly the idea of Driver in a musical - are rather more appealing than the complete lack of hype suggests.
