12 Marvel Movies To Make Phase 4 "Distinctly Different"

1. Namor

We've been to Earth, we've been to space... Why can't we go under the sea next?

Of all of Marvel's so far unadapted characters, Namor the Sub-mariner is arguably the most popular. The anti-hero character has a rich and storied history with Marvel, having fought alongside Captain America in World War II and having a seat on the Illuminati.

And he certainly fits the bill for difference, even if he's one of the more difficult sells for mainstream audiences. But then if Aquaman blazes a trail for sub-aquatic heroes, the way may well be significantly less difficult to navigate by the time Phase 4 came out.

The Challenges

Well, from a purely PR stand-point, Marvel would probably face the same sort of questions Aquaman is already facing: is a sometimes time-travelling fish-man not too silly for a film? Can we really relate to the threats faced by Atlantis?

But if Ant-Man proved anything, it's that silly isn't necessarily fatal.

There's also the issue of Universal apparently owning Namor's screen rights, but if they're willing to sit on them and do nothing, they might well be open to talking to Marvel about a deal.
