12 MCU Movie Endings With Disturbing Implications You Totally Missed
1. Half Doesn't Mean Half - Avengers: Infinity War
You might not agree with Thanos' daugher killing manifesto or how much he enjoys torture, murder and his general malevolence, but there was a whole segment of MCU fans who were strangely enthusiastic about his desire to save the universe from itself. People were genuinely saying they understood what he was doing. Some even proclaimed him a hero. This is why the Internet is not to be trusted, to be honest.
Anyway, there was a pretty major flaw in Thanos' plan. And not, it's not the fact that it wouldn't have solved anything, or that - as Endgame proved - the survivors wouldn't thrive because they'd be too preoccupied with grief. The real problem is that there's no way for Thanos to ensure that half of the population really meant half.
There are potentially hundreds of thousands of people who would have died because of indirect reasons other than the snap: planes fell out of the sky because pilots disappeared, unmanned cars would have caused havoc, pregnant mothers would have meant two deaths, surgeons dying on duty would have killed their patients and the impact on health services would have led to many, many deaths.
And yes, while the people directly snapped away would have returned when the snap was reversed, the countless number killed as a second wave would never get that chance to live again. That's pretty grim to think about.
