The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Avengers movie has paved the way for more comic book teams to be the focus of their own films. Next year, we'll see the Guardians of the Galaxy movie taking the Marvel Cinematic Universe in to the far reaches of deep space and it is widely anticipated that DC will follow suit - assuming the success of the recently announced Batman vs Superman movie. So now is surely the dawn of the comic book team movie era? If that is indeed the case, which other comic book teams - both heroic and villainous - would it be awesome to see on the big screen? I've given the matter some thought and narrowed it down to twelve that I'd personally love to see and, with that in mind, here are a dozen more comic book teams that need to be in a movie...
12. Alpha Flight

Wouldn't it be different to have a superhero movie that both wasn't primarily set in America and didn't focus on American heroes? Of course, The Wolverine was set in Japan and Wolverine himself is Canadian, but it didn't really focus on his Canadian roots and was obviously part of a franchise of which the bulk has been set in the United States. Alpha Flight are generally seen as Canada's answer to the Avengers. The bulk of their team members have distinctly Canadian attributes, such as Inuit or First Nations heritage. Throughout most of its history, the team has worked for Department H, a fictional branch of Canada's Department of National Defence that deals with super-powered villains. The team has had various incarnations but generally has some of Marvel's most popular names as part of their make-up - Northstar, Sasquatch and Shaman, for example. They started out as mere supporting characters in Wolverine stories but became popular enough to have their own spin-off comic series. I see no reason why that same concept couldn't translate on to the big screen.
