12 Most Anticipated Action Movies Coming In 2020 (And Beyond)
3. Fast & Furious 9 (April 2, 2021)
One of the reasons that the Fast and Furious franchise has remained so popular is that you know exactly what you're going to get with each new installment; a plot that makes little conceivable sense, action scenes that defy every law of both physics of gravity, gratuitous butt shots and Vin Diesel in a tank top grumbling about family.
Fans were devastated when the ninth installment was pushed back by almost a year, especially when it came so soon after the first trailer revealed the latest batch of ludicrous set-pieces and sheer insanity that awaits Dominic Torreto and his crew in their latest adventure.
It seems like someone took every possible idea for a Fast and Furious movie and threw it into the mix, regardless of the consequences. The Rock's too busy making spinoffs and doesn't get along with Vin Diesel anyway? Let's cast John Cena, he's also a wrestler-turned-actor. Dom has a secret brother that's never been mentioned before that just happens to be a thief, assassin and expert driver? Let's make him the villain. Should we bring Han back from the dead? Sure, why not. Strap a rocket engine to a car for no reason? F**k yeah. Pluck a car out of the air with a magnetized stealth bomber? Of course.
By the looks of things, Fast and Furious 9 will have exhausted so many possibilities that they'll be left with no choice but to send the gang into space for the tenth and final chapter.
