5. Forehead Stamp - Inglorious Basterds

Hans Landa Ending
Universal Pictures

The plot to 2009's Inglorious Basterds is simple: assassinate the world's most notorious mass murderer.

Not only do Lt. Aldo Raine's (Brad Pitt) merciless band of vengeful brothers intend to rid the world of the Nazi agenda by crashing a German film premier with a barrage of explosives, but Jewish theatre owner, Shosanna Dreyfus (now going by Emmanuelle Mimeux) intends to use highly flammable film reel to burn the establishment to the ground, cooking Hitler and his officers in the blaze.

With Hitler's involvement minimal, viewers are given a new villain in the form of Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz), a highly intelligent, yet unmistakably irredeemable SS officer. Landa's role in the Third Reich is to round up those in France who are of Jewish faith, and his reputation as the 'Jew Hunter' would lead you to believe he is as efficient as he his ruthless.

When the Basterds' plan to explode the theatre is foiled, Landa attempts to cut a deal with them, preserving his life in return for Hitler's destruction. The Basterds accept, but leave Landa with a parting gift.

Carving a swastika into the forehead of the notorious Nazi officer serves as a constant reminder of his sickening actions.
