12 Most Exciting Upcoming Movie Character Returns

The second of our returning heroine's on this list, Natalie Portman's portrayal of Jane Foster is another character we never thought we'd see again, but it seems Marvel are finally putting her to good use.

It's probably fair to say an actress of Portman's talent was fairly underused in the first two Thor films. The love interest of the titular character, the script never allowed Jane to develop beyond that, and fans weren't too disappointed to see her removed entirely from Ragnarok, which took the Thor series in a new direction.

Her return in next year's Love and Thunder however, looks set to put her front and centre. While it's not yet known how Foster will return, it's widely reported that she will become the mighty god of thunder herself by the end of the film, perhaps taking the reins of the franchise from Chris Hemsworth. It's the perfect opportunity to give the character some real independence and become another female role model.
