And though our final entry wasn't from a movie, it nevertheless earns the #1 spot through being more unconscionable and offputting than any other casting choice on this list.

SKY's 2017 UK comedy series Urban Myths made the eyebrow-raising decision to cast Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson in an episode of the anthology show.

The teaser trailer sparked immediate bewilderment and outrage online, due to Fiennes' ill-suited casting and the rather grotesque, unflattering make-up he wore in order to portray the pop icon.

Jackson's daughter Paris led the outcry, with a petition to pull the episode gaining more than 20,000 signatures, leading to SKY cancelling the episode's airing entirely.

From the scant few seconds we saw, it was almost definitely for the best for everyone involved, especially Fiennes, who has enjoyed a recent career comeback with his work on The Handmaid's Tale.
