Films don't come anymore insane than this 1982 Indie flick, an off the wall project that proved incredibly influential. While the plot's focus on aliens arriving on Earth looking for their next 'big hit' has not quite been replicated since, the innovative visual design proved to have quite an impact, heavily influencing the electroclash club scene of the early 2000's.

The insanity that is this film can be seen in the casting, with actress Anne Carlisle playing both the male and female leads. Carlisle plays bisexual drug addict Margaret as well as her character's antagonist Jimmy, the two remarkably having a sex scene together- yeah, this film is absolutely bonkers.

As aliens await atop of the apartment block at which she resides, Margaret soon figures out that the visitors from another planet are living off the orgasms of the humans around them. In a crazy twist in an already crazy film, Margaret realises that she can kill whoever she wants to by sleeping with them, her inability to 'climax' proving to be a murderous weapon.

The film really is like nothing that has been made before or since, its willingness to take risks while making bold artistic choices making it a fascinating curiosity piece at the very least.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
