It's especially sad to be the bearer of bad news when the movie in question is The Wizard of Oz, arguably the most beloved motion picture of all-time. For all the joy that this movie has brought to millions of people the world over, behind the scenes things weren't so good for its leading lady.

Who would have guessed that Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, and Jack Haley spent the entire shoot picking on Judy Garland? And yet, according to a number of reports, that's exactly what happened. The three male leads, who played the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin-Man, refused to be nice to Garland and would frequently shun her, convinced that she was upstaging them all.

It's kind of shocking to learn that the amazing chemistry that these four actors shared on screen was a sham. Bizarrely, Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West, was the one left to comfort Garland on-set.
