Back in the unfortunately poor Thor sequel, Erik Selvig's blackboard was a minefield of Easter Eggs and references, and the most intriguing was the mention of The Crossroads.

In the comics, that's a reality in which standard rules of physics don't apply, which serves as a crossroads between different worlds.

How It Will Come Back

With the Quantum Realm appearing in Ant-Man and the inter-dimensional focus of Doctor Strange opening up new possibilities, we're definitely going to see new dimensions in Phase 4.

That's going to be one of the new pillars on which Kevin Feige's brave new world will be built - and it might even provide an explanation for how the X-Men and Fantastic Four could join the MCU.
