After the release of surprise smash-hit, A Quiet Place, the film was awash with such critical and audience acclaim that a sequel was always inevitable. The loss of one of its standout stars in John Krasinski to the narrative however raised issues with fans as to the relevance of a sequel. Many of those fears were probably somewhat abated by the announcement that Irish acting great, Cillian Murphy, had been added to the cast.

Anyone who has ever watched 28 Days Later will attest to the fact that Murphy is extremely at home in this particular genre of cinema, and a re-watch will only add to the excitement at seeing him grace this sequel. Cillian has long been considered one of the gems of Irish cinema and has certainly earned that right with consistently brilliant performances. He chooses his roles well and never disappoints in them.

Though there is little know thus far about his character, Emmett, Murphy will no doubt bring all his acting acumen to the fore and elevate this exciting sequel to a follow up worthy of the rightfully adored original.
