9. David Harbour - Black Widow
With the roaring success of Stranger Things, David Harbour cemented his place as everyone's favourite gruff but lovable tough guy.
This should have had him nailed on to be the perfect choice for the new Hellboy, however sadly, through no fault of Harbour, the movie was a deeply unsuccessful attempt to reboot an already loved franchise. Mercifully however the affable actor has been given a second chance at superheroedom (it's a word) in the form of Red Guardian in the up coming Black Widow.
Harbour is a deeply talented and engaging actor and given the right source material, clearly has the ability to connect with an audience as both a tough hero and a sensitive soul making his casting as Red Guardian all the more intriguing.
Based on the background of the character it is a role which will hopefully require a great deal of nuance and charisma to pull it off in a fitting way and, thankfully, Marvel appear to have chosen a man chocked full of both who is itching to prove a point.
