12 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About Star Wars: The Last Jedi
5. Captain Phasma Was Embarrassingly Squandered...Again
After Captain Phasma got the weirdly short shrift in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi's marketing played-up the idea that she'd finally get her due, showing up to do battle with Finn and presumably getting much more to do.
As it turned out, Phasma again only appears in the film for around five minutes, quickly showing up to fight Finn and then definitely-maybe falling to her fiery demise.
It felt like such a copout for a character who both looks fantastic and is played by a terrific actress, yet has still not had a chance to shine in all her glory (which is especially egregious considering the lack of female antagonists in the franchise).
While she could return in Episode IX, that will do little to change the fact she's a hugely underwhelming non-fixture in this film, and is once again made to look like a harmless geek.
